As a precaution, you should also check your gutters for debris after major storms or damage. This will prevent small issues from going unnoticed and turning into bigger ones. Gutters can also be damaged by things such as improperly leaning a ladder against them or using them to hang decorations.

In general, gutters can be installed in a single day, however larger or more complex gutter projects will take longer.
